Urevbu Contemporary presensts RE(de)FINED, a solo exhibition of new and recent paintings by Nigerian artist Johnson Uwadinma on the occasion of his first solo exhibition with the gallery.

Uwadinma reflects on the fraught, but integral relationship between humans and nature that is informed by his experiences in the Niger Delta, such as oil spills, pollution, and the consequences of climate change, The tensions between abundance, life, fecundity, and degradation, waste, and environmental disasters are the thematic concerns of RE(de)FINED The human form is central to Uwadinma’s practice, as he considers humanity’s stewardship of natural resources, for better and for worse.
